Woman reportedly abducted on James Island found safe

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC)-The Charleston County Sheriff's Office located a woman who was reported abducted near Saint James Drive earlier this week. Deputies say they have solved the case.

At 6:23 p.m. Thursday, deputies received a tip and located the alleged victim in downtown Charleston. She was unharmed and did not need any medical attention.

Investigators say the incident was the result of a domestic dispute between the woman and her live-in boyfriend. There are no charges pending in this investigation.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to St. James Avenue after receiving a complaint about a female being abducted by three men. According to the complainant, one of the subjects exited the vehicle, grabbed the victim and threw her in the back seat of the car. The vehicle was last seen heading toward Central Park and Maybank Highway.

The investigation found that the woman's boyfriend was in fact the individual that encountered her on St.

No missing persons reported following possible abduction

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC)-Investigators with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they have not received any missing persons reports following a possible abduction on James Island on Wednesday.

Authorities are continuing the investigation into a reported incident where a female was taken in a car by three men.

A witness didn't want to identify himself, but said he was taking a walk around 4 p.m. Wednesday when he was approached by the same men that he claims abducted the woman.

He described the car as a white convertible Lexus with three men inside. He said the car pulled up beside him, then drove away slowly. The witness said it then approached the woman, who was walking down St. James Drive about six houses ahead of him near Riverland Drive.

He said that is when the driver got out, grabbed the woman by her hair and threw her into the backseat.

Another mild winter day

Another mild winter day

LOWCOUNTRY (WCSC) - It's another mild day in the Lowcountry, says Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson:

As Wednesday morning rolls on the sun will help move the temperatures up after a pretty chilly start to the day. Jackets and heaters were on early but as plenty of sunshine returns today we are looking at highs back into the upper 60s to near 70°. A light southeast breeze will develop by afternoon around 6-12 mph so sit back, relax and enjoy a nice winter afternoon.
