A few more clouds are around to start us off on Thursday but temps are just fine in the upper 60s. A few coastal showers have been pushing over the beaches across Edisto Beach inland toward Walterboro. They should fizzle out by late morning. Highs this afternoon are back in the lower 80s with a mild southeast breeze.

Its shaping up to be another great Wednesday here along the coast with plenty of sun mixed with a few clouds as we move past mid-day into the afternoon. Highs should again reach the lower 80s away from the beaches with a light east wind. Drive time this early evening will welcome the windows down with nice weather lasting into tonight.

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- The Charleston Parks Conservancy and community members were in James Island Tuesday morning to officially dedicate the city's newly renovated tennis center.

The dedication took place Tuesday morning at the Maybank Tennis Center after renovations were completed in October 2012. Officials say the original courts were roughly 40-year-old and in desperate need of repairs.

The City of Charleston, along with the Charleston Parks Conservancy and community members, came together to raise money for the project, which included six hard courts and three clay courts. Six of the eight original courts at the Maybank Tennis Center were demolished and rebuilt.

In addition to rebuilding the courts, crews also worked to raise the elevation of the courts and installed two detention ponds to reduce flooding. New lighting, sidewalks, drinking fountains, and a 49 spot parking area were also built.
