School bus drivers to speak out on Durham working conditions
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC)- School bus drivers from multiple school districts across the Lowcountry will come together on Tuesday to speak out about concerns regarding Durham School Services.
A press conference regarding school bus safety, service and working conditions at Durham School Services will take place Tuesday, April 16 at 5:45 at Embassy Suites in North Charleston. School bus drivers from Charleston, Beaufort and Summerville's Dorchester District 2 are expected to be in attendance along with representatives from international trade unions.
After the press conference, the drivers will then testify at a forum about workplace safety and service issues involving the safe transportation of students.
Also scheduled to be in attendance is South Carolina State Representative Wendell Gilliard.
Durham, the second-larges school bus company in the United States, contracts with three South Carolina school districts.
