Elections for mayor, town council coming to James Island | News

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- Former James Island Mayor Bill Woolsey announced Tuesday that elections for mayor and council for the Town of James Island will be held on July 31.
Woolsey said four council members would be elected at large. The term limit for mayor and council is two years, Woolsey added.
If you are interested in running, you may file for candidacy at the offices of Kernodle, Root, and Coleman, 914 Folly Road, Suite 2, on James Island.
Books will be open for filing on May 21 and will close at noon on May 31. Candidates must be qualified electors residing in the proposed municipality at the time of the election.
The filing fee for the Office of Mayor and for the Office of Council Member is $100.
