Experience Lowcountry cuisine during Charleston Restaurant Week

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A number of restaurants throughout the Lowcountry are giving the public a chance to try incredible three-course meals for a reduced price.

Charleston Restaurant Week returns to the Lowcountry January 10-20, 2013. Over 120 restaurants will offer pre-set menus consisting of three courses for a fixed price: either $20, $30, or $40. The price depends on the restaurant. 

The event gives the public a chance to enjoy some of Charleston's delicious cuisine for a price that is easy on the wallet. Reservations are recommended for most spots, as the participating restaurants can get pretty busy during the week.

The Charleston Restaurant Association has developed an iPhone app that will allow users to quickly and easily search Restaurant Week deals and specials, and find which of the participating restaurants are near you. The app also features a tip calculator, and a function to take pics and quickly post them to social media sites.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Bojangles' is offering the public a chance to try its newest menu item for the low, low price of free.

Customers can enjoy a free Homestyle Tenders 4-peice snack for free January 21-27. To redeem this delicious offer, customers must go to www.homestyletenders.com by Jan. 25 to register. 

Registration is simple: Go to the website, select a nearby participating Bojangles' from the list, a preferred date and time to get your free eats, and complete the form.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston-area Subway restaurants well be helping residents get a fresh start to their day by offering free breakfast January 28 through February 2.

People can go online to myfreebreakfast.com and sign-up to try any 3-inch flatbread sandwich from the breakfast menu and coffee at participating restaurants in the Lowcountry. 

Once online, participants will select a time and day during the giveaway to visit Subway to receive their free breakfast.

Breakfast sandwiches included bacon, egg and cheese; black forest ham, egg and cheese; and steak, egg and cheese.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Applebees just got a little tastier for military veterans and active duty service members.

The restaurant chain will offer a free meal to all military veterans and active duty service members on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11. The deal will offer seven entrees, and is available during business hours at participating Applebees restaurants.

Military ID or proof of service is required to enjoy the free meal.

Magazine: Charleston is '4th-tastiest town in the South'

CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Charleston will be featured in the upcoming issue of Southern Living magazine as one of the "10 Tastiest Towns in the South."

After holding a vote for their readers, editors of the magazine compiled their top 10 list, which places Charleston 4th behind: Birmingham, Alabama; Baltimore, Maryland, and Lafayette, Louisiana.

Rounding out the top 10 are: Charlottesville, Virginia; Decatur, Georgia; Houston, Texas; Louisville, Kentucky; New Orleans, Lousiana, and Raleigh, North Carolina.
