Fort Johnson Road sidewalk project halfway complete, officials say
JAMES ISLAND (WCSC) - Charleston County Government announced the completion of the first two phases of the Fort Johnson Road sidewalk project on Wednesday.
Officials say crews have completed construction of a new sidewalk from James Island Charter High School to Lighthouse Boulevard, which was Phase 1. They've also completed Phase 2, which was construction of a new, asphalt sidewalk beginning at Walkers Landing Lane and continuing to the entrance of SC Department of Natural Resources' Marine Resources Division.
Now comes phases 3 and 4, which will provide sidewalk connectivity along the full length of Fort Johnson Road from the SC DNR division to Folly Road.
